Visit to Westwell Manor Garden, a Special Cotswold Garden, Burford
Thursday, June 27th @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
The house dates back to the 16th century and was bought by Thomas and Anthea Gibson in 1979. By 1912 the gardens had been laid out in the Arts and Crafts Style but since then Anthea Gibson added contemporary features to the traditional English garden structure of rose garden and kitchen garden. Anthea died in 2010 but her work was been continued by the Head Gardener, David Baldwin.
Following a talk from the Head Gardener you will be free to wonder through the magnificent double herbaceous borders, the topiary garden, the Full Moon Garden and the many water features: rills, pools and lakes.
A short walk away and well worth visiting is the small St Mary’s church with Norman features and some unusual monuments.
