A visit to the Field Centre, Gables Farm, Tipputs, near Nailsworth on Thursday 6th August at 2.30pm and at 3.15pm.
Location is at postcode GL6 0QE – booking essential – booking details are below.
The building is an interesting essay in rammed earth construction with a green roof and also of a unique architectural expression of the Centre’s function, in the study of cosmic influences on plant growth and agriculture.
Our visit will be hosted by Simon Reakes of The Field Centre who will explain the work carried out there. The building is quite accessible so that visitors will be able to pass through while observing social distancing. There is a covered outside area where the talk can take place in open air with distancing. The visitor party will be restricted in size and there will be two small groups with time separation.
This is the first of a programme of mainly open air visits with access by car or bus or even on foot! Look out for further emails giving details of other events, including Oakbrook Community Farm on the outskirts of Stroud.
Arrangements: Parking is limited by the Field Centre. Please can visitors drive and park at the Ruskin Mill/Tipputs car park GL6 0QE. Anyone coming by bus can be met at Nailsworth Bus Station and transported the mile up the hill in a minivan.
Each group will assemble in the open air outside the Ruskin Mill shop and be led, about 250 metres, through the delightful market garden and farm to the Field Centre. There are facilities on site and we will provide tea, En Plein Aire!
