A talk by Project Manager Peter Richardson
Congregational Church Hall, Bedford Street, Stroud

If you have ever ventured up Nelson Street any time in the last 18 months—or have been prevented from doing so by road closures—you will be aware of a lot of digging by Severn Trent. Water and gas pipes, electric and telephone cables have been relocated to make way for the laying of new sewer pipes. The work has recently moved up Middle Street and finally on to Acre Street.
This is a small part of Severn Trent’s ongoing £25 million project to reduce sewer flooding in Stroud and the polluting of the river Frome and other local watercourses.
The main part of the work has involved constructing a new sewer from Wallbridge in Stroud to Ryeford. You may have seen this new sewer being laid alongside the Ebley bypass, and the construction of the new storm tank shaft.
Come and hear Peter Richardson, project manager with Galliford Try, talk about this complex and amazing multi million pound engineering project, Stroud Sewer Strategy, is going to address the vital issues of local flooding and river pollution, which is fast becoming a national problem.
